Our Mission & Purpose
Dedicated to glorifying God by nurturing faith, strengthening community, encouraging spiritual growth and sharing Christ-centered love.
Our Mission Statement
"To glorify God by nurturing faith, strengthening community, encouraging spiritual growth and sharing Christ-centered love through worship, fellowship and service."
This mission is the guiding compass for Second New Golden Star Missionary Baptist Church. Everything we endeavor to do—from gathering for Sunday worship to reaching out in prayer for our neighbors—flows from this central commitment to honor God and reflect the boundless grace of Jesus Christ in our community.
We believe that a church is most effective when it maintains an unwavering focus on its divine calling. By providing a nurturing environment where faith can blossom, we seek to help believers develop an authentic, resilient relationship with God that withstands the pressures and uncertainties of the modern world.
Our mission calls us to look outward as well as inward—ensuring that the grace we receive through Christ is actively shared through loving service, humble kindness, and dedicated intercessory prayer throughout Saint Louis.
Our Purpose
The purpose of Second New Golden Star Missionary Baptist Church is to provide a faithful Christian sanctuary in St. Louis where individuals and families can:
- Worship the Living God: Offering heartfelt praise, reverence, and gratitude to God through biblical worship, sacred music, scripture reading, and communal prayer.
- Deepen Biblical Understanding: Exploring the teachings of the Holy Bible to guide personal morality, ethical integrity, family life, and everyday decision-making.
- Cultivate Authentic Fellowship: Building an affectionate, welcoming family of believers where no one walks alone, and where mutual encouragement is practiced daily.
- Serve With Compassion: Extending Christ's love through kindness, neighborly care, and prayerful intercession throughout Saint Louis.
- Nurture the Next Generation: Passing down timeless spiritual principles, moral foundations, and biblical truth to children, youth, and young families.
Our Core Values
Our life together as a congregation is shaped by six fundamental Christian values:
1. Christ-Centered Faith
We believe that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our faith. In Him, we find salvation, redemption, forgiveness, and the perfect example of unconditional love, humility, and servant leadership.
2. Biblical Integrity
We hold the Holy Scriptures as our trustworthy guide for faith, doctrine, and daily life. We encourage careful, thoughtful study of God’s Word to foster spiritual maturity and wisdom.
3. Prayerful Dependence
Prayer is our vital communication with God. We believe in the power of intercessory prayer to heal, guide, comfort, and sustain us through life's greatest trials and triumphs.
4. Compassionate Community
We value every person who enters our doors. We strive to maintain a culture of warmth, hospitality, respect, and mutual encouragement where all feel valued, heard, and supported.
5. Faithful Stewardship
As a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, we are committed to managing our resources, time, and talents with the highest integrity, transparency, and dedication to God’s kingdom.
6. Community Presence
We believe our calling extends into the neighborhoods of Saint Louis. We seek to be a steady beacon of hope, encouragement, and peace in our city.
Faith in Action
In the Epistle of James, we are reminded that faith without works is dead. At Second New Golden Star, we believe that genuine faith expresses itself through action—in how we treat our neighbors, how we care for the vulnerable, how we comfort the grieving, and how we lift up those who are struggling.
Whether in the sanctuary or out in the St. Louis community, we desire our lives to testify to the goodness and mercy of God. We believe that simple acts of faithfulness, kindness, and prayerful support create ripples of positive transformation throughout our neighborhoods.
Serving Saint Louis
Located at 2857 Belt Ave, our church is deeply invested in the spiritual and social flourishing of our local community. We pray consistently for the leaders, schools, families, and residents of Saint Louis, asking God to grant peace, safety, unity, and prosperity across our city.
